What is A Green Card?

A Green Card is an immigration document that allows a foreign national to live and work permanently in the United States. It is issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and is also known as a Permanent Resident Card. It is valid for 10 years and can be renewed.

A Green Card holder has all the rights of a U.S. citizen except they cannot vote in federal elections, serve on a jury, or hold certain government jobs.
